Successful School Supplies Drive!

I want to give a huge thank you to all who donated to the 8th ward Second Semester School Supplies Drive!!  THANK YOU.  Over 35 teachers and staff of our two neighborhood public schools, Mullanphy and Sherman, participated in the “wish list” process.  Their requested items were transcribed, organized, put into list form and into word cloud form (for visual impact).  With your generous help we were able to donate over 150 items from their wish lists!   I made sure everyone who participated got at least one thing from their wish list – though it was disappointing not to get everything.

Ms. Clayborn, admin at Sherman, was thrilled to receive her bag of goodies first – “I’m going to hide these highlighters right now!”

I plan to make this an annual or biannual event because of the amazing response from this community – we know how important it is to support our teachers and students!  Thank you again!
