via St. Louis Business Journal:.
St. Louis aldermen will consider developer Paul McKee Jr.’s $8.1 billion Northside plan Friday.
McKee, chairman of O’Fallon, Mo.-based McEagle Properties, said Wednesday that he finalized the details of the redevelopment agreement with city officials within the past 24 hours.
The plan requires a separate bill by aldermen for the use of eminent domain and does not address McKee’s request that the city back half of the project’s $391 million in tax increment financing.
Last month, the city’s TIF commission unanimously approved $391 million in TIF for the project. It would be the largest TIF in the city’s history.
McKee’s plan calls for up to 4.5 million square feet of office space, 1 million square feet of retail space, 2,200 new single-family homes and 7,800 apartments over the next 20 years.
